The Grand Hotel, which was originally built in 1872 as a home for the Duchess of Northumberland, is majestically situated on a cliff top commanding some of the most stunning views of natural coastline in the country. The hotel is steeped in history and has been carefully refurbished with no expense being spared to create its own individual style of elegance and luxury. It offers a great base from which to explore the coastal areas, Newcastle City, and rural Northumbria.We offer 44 luxurious guest bedrooms, many with stunning sea views. We also have an acclaimed Victoria Restaurant offering full A la Carte and Plat du Jour menus, a relaxed drawing room with sea-views and Copperfields Bar offering traditional home cooked meals. The Hotel has on its doorstep the award winning Tynemouth Longsands beach and is only three minutes walk from both the historic Tynemouth Priory and Castle and the picturesque village of Tynemouth village. The latter featuring many bars, restaurants and village-style shops.

Leave the A1 at the exit signed for A19, Tyne Tunneland Tynemouth.2. Continue on the A19 until you reach the SilverlinkRoundabout, take the exit signed A1058 and Tynemouth.3. Continue along A1058 until you reach the coast.4. Turn right at the roundabout located adjacent to thePark Hotel and follow Grand Parade for approx. 300 yards.You will see the Grand Hotel on the right hand side,overlooking the sea.A1 - From the South---------------------------1. Continue north on the A1 past Washington Services(Junction 64) and merge onto the A194M.2. Take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout to join withthe A194.3. Continue on the A194 then join with the A19 North.5. Follow the signposts for the Tyne Tunnel. The tunnelis a toll tunnel and payment is made on the north side(approx £1.00 per car).6. On leaving the tunnel, at the roundabout take the exitsigned A19, Tynemouth.7. Now refer to point 2. from A1 from the NorthBy Rail---------Newcastle Central (train) Station is located in Newcastle City, approx 10 miles from the Grand Hotel. From here you can take a Metro train service to Tynemouth Metro Station and the hotel is a 10 minute walk from here, although there is a taxi rank outside. Parking----------There are private parking spaces to the front and to the south side of the hotel, with on-street parking to the front and to the north side.
